Bad Dreams

Our bad dreams often reveal what we are most concerned about, as well as our deepest subconscious fears and anxieties. This is true regardless of age, status, ethnicity or power as demonstrated in the life of Nebuchadnezzar. Although he was the king of Babylon and on top of the world, it was also on top of him.

After being terrified of his dreams, he seeks to understand what they mean. Can anyone reveal to him what they are and why they matter? Unlike the pagan seers around him, Daniel has a worldview and understanding of the transcendent that is radically unique and has greater explanatory power of life's mysteries. As Daniel 2:28 will state, "there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries." Only by God revealing himself and his purposes for us can we truly understand ourselves and the world.
