Doctrine & Discipleship

Doctrine is not abstract.
It produces measurable fruit.

Sound doctrine leads to sound lives, and sound lives advance Christ’s kingdom. We seek a church body where we joyfully embrace Jesus as King, commit to covenant community, obey Christ in baptism, pursue faithfulness in marriage and parenting.

Through our efforts, God is building us into a church that grows in generosity and evangelism, multiplies small groups, raises and sends qualified leaders, and plants churches.

The Gospel

At the core of our faith is the good news that Jesus Christ was crucified and raised so that sinners may trust Him and be reconciled to God.

This message defines who we are. It shapes our worship, our community, our discipleship, and our mission in Madison.

The Scriptures

We believe the Bible is the authoritative and sufficient Word of God.

Scripture governs our doctrine, directs our practices, and sets the boundaries for faithfulness. Everything we teach and everything we do rests on the conviction that God’s Word is true, trustworthy, and final.

The Creeds & Confessions

We affirm the ancient Apostles’ Creed and Nicene Creed as faithful summaries of Christian belief.

Our doctrinal distinctives are summarized in the Sovereign Grace Churches Statement of Faith, which closely aligns with the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith.

These distinctives include an emphasis on God’s sovereignty, our practice of believers’ baptism, our celebration of God’s complementary design for men and women, and our continuationist convictions regarding the Holy Spirit's ongoing work and power in the church.
