The Conversion of the Nations

So far in Zephaniah, God has issued a severe message of judgment on the nations encompassing Israel in that day. But just as we've seen throughout the rest of the book, judgment is not the final word. Instead, the day of the Lord brings salvation through judgment. This salvation would include the nations.

In biblical history, the Tower of Babel represents a pivotal moment in human history and the beginning of nations, though separated and apart from the living God, Zephaniah sees the confusion of languages that occurred at Babel reversed and turned into a pure speech. How will God accomplish this? This teaching will disclose God's ultimate plan for the nations and give a true foundation for unity in diversity.
